Gallaudet places 58 student-athletes on 2009-10 CAC All-Academic Team
The Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) announced its All-Academic honorees for the 2009-10 school year and 58 of Gallaudet Universitys 145 student-athletes in one or more conference sport(s) were selected for posting a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or higher during the year.

GU Athletics mourns the loss of Donald M. Bullock
The Gallaudet University Athletics Department is sad to announce the loss of Donald M. Bullock (Class of 1952), a wrestling standout and Hall of Famer. Bullock (1925-2010) passed away on March 25, 2010, at his home in Fremont, Calif., he was 84-years-old.

Gallaudet student-athletes, coaches and managers set to graduate on Friday
The 141st Gallaudet University commencement this Friday, May 14, will celebrate hundreds of students receiving their respective degrees. In the graduating class there are nearly 20 Bison student-athletes and several coaches and team managers that will receive their degrees at the Field House at 1 p.m.

The Gallaudet University Athletics Department announced the two recipients for Bison of the Month recently for April. The honorees are softball freshman Kara Gulvas and baseball sophomore Jeremy Shepps.

Gallaudet nearly doubles point total in 2009-10 CAC All-Sports Award final standings
The Gallaudet University athletics department had the biggest point increase in the 2009-10 Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) Richard C. Cook All-Sports Award final standings as announced by the conference on Thursday. The Bison increased its final point total by 15 points compared to the 2008-09 mark of 18.50 points.

GU Student-Athletes recognized at annual Awards Ceremony
The 2009-10 Gallaudet University athletics year officially came to a close on Monday, May 3, in Andrew J. Foster Auditorium as the GU athletics department held its annual awards ceremony. Bison student-athletes from all 14 varsity teams were recognized before a near capacity crowd.

Gallaudet's Hurwitz appointed Vice-Chair of NEAC President's Council
Gallaudet University President T. Alan Hurwitz has been appointed Vice-Chair of the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Presidents Council as announced by the conference. Hurwitz will serve a two-year term, beginning immediately, in this position before being elevated to the Chair position, another two-year appointment.

GU Athletics makes great strides with community service day at STRIVE DC
The Gallaudet University athletics department along with President T. Alan Hurwitz and First Lady Vicki Hurwitz took time out of their busy schedules to give back to community on Sunday, April 11. The group made up of mainly student-athletes from the baseball, cheerleading, football and mens basketball programs made the short walk down 8th street in Northeast Washington to STRIVE DC to help out the non-profit group with its annual spring cleaning day.

The Gallaudet University men's and women's basketball teams are asking for clothing donations from the campus community to help one of its own. All donations can be dropped off to the Gallaudet University Athletics Department Offices in the Field House, Room number 144. The deadline to make your donation is Wednesday, December 23.

The Gallaudet University Athletics Department is sad to announce the loss of Thomas Olof Berg, legendary Bison track and field coach and Hall of Famer. Berg, 87, passed away on September 28, 2009. Berg worked at Gallaudet from 1956 until 1986 where he was the Assistant Dean of Students and coached track and field.
