Gallaudet announces affiliation with the North Atlantic Conference

The North Atlantic Conference (NAC) announced  the addition of football, as of 2009. Four independents will join conference members Husson and Norwich. The independents joining along with Gallaudet are Mount Ida, Becker, and SUNY-Maritime. "It's great for Gallaudet, the players, and I'm excited about the prospect of playing in a league, with the opportunity to compete for a conference championship," Bison Head Coach Ed Hottle commented.

The school's teams will be part of a conference-sponsored round-robin schedule with a season-ending championship game.

Gallaudet already is scheduled to play Becker and SUNY-Maritime this season.

Interim Athletic Director Mike Weinstock on joining the conference: "I think it's great for Gallaudet to be part of the conference, which gives players incentive, [and something to look forward to] working towards qualifying for NCAA playoff bids."
