Olney Remains Undefeated at 3000m Mark
Senior Kari Olney once again emerged victorious at both 3000 meter races at the Battleground Relays held in Fredericksburg, Virginia this weekend. Olney beat a field of four other runners on Friday to capture the open 3000m Run. She then overcame an early fall in the 3000m Steeplechase winning with a push on the last lap. Kari is currently leading the conference in the 3000m Steeplechase with a time of 12:47.74. Through three meets, Olney has placed first in all events at the 3000m distance.
Hurdle and Jump specialist, Anthony Baskin also had a very impressive meet, as he placed in three events over the weekend. Baskin placed first in the 110m Hurdles (16.57), second in the High Jump (1.80m), and fourth in the Triple Jump (11.97m).
In all, Gallaudet's Men and Women placed in a total of nine events. Bison men's relay team, composed of Jacob Schlotthauer, Chris Khanoyan, Matt Schindel, and Greg Frey, finished fourth in the 4x100m Relay, and fifth in both the 4x200m Relay and 1600m Sprint Medley Relay.
The Bison will travel to the Goucher College Track and Field Classic in Baltimore, Maryland this weekend. Field events will start at 10:00am, with the running events beginning at 11:00am.
