Women's Soccer Dominates Columbia Union But Fails to Notch First Victory
The women's soccer team played their best game of the season today against Columbia Union but were not able to notch their first victory of the season, losing 2-0. Gallaudet dominated play for much of the game but was not able to score despite several excellent attempts.
Two costly mistakes on defense allowed Columbia Union to score their goals, and despite several excellent shots, Gallaudet was not able to get the ball pass the Columbia Union goalkeeper. Regardless, Gallaudet Head Coach Sarah Gumina was pleased with the team's effort this afternoon. Coach Gumina said, "We played well. We controlled almost the whole game and played well as a team. There were great passes and transitions."
With the loss, Gallaudet goes to 0-11 on the season. Gallaudet plays 5 home games in 9 days starting with Medgar Evers College at 1 pm, Sunday, October 12.
