Columbia Union Defeats Gallaudet Women 5-2

Columbia Union defeated the Gallaudet women's soccer team 5-2 tonight under the lights at Hotchkiss Field. The Bison attempted 18 shots and had numerous shots bounce off the crossbar in a strong attempt to win the team's first game of the 2008 season.

The Gallaudet goals were scored by freshman forward Kahlila Merritt (Dallas, TX/Texas School for the Deaf) and sophomore midfielder Virginia Keeler (Ann Arbor, MI/Michigan School for the Deaf). Freshman midfielder Kari Olney (Riverside, CA/California School for the Deaf-Riverside had 5 shots on goal and junior forward Samantha Bulewich (West Springfield, MA/West Springfield) attempted 7 shots on goal but neither player was able to get past the Columbia Union goalie.

Gallaudet next plays at Mary Washington Thursday at 4 pm.
