Virginia Keeler named NEAC Women's Soccer Co-Player of the Week

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. – The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) announced its weekly conference player of the week awards and Gallaudet University senior midfielder Virginia Keeler (Ann Arbor, Mich.) was named the women's soccer recipient for the week of October 11. This is the first-ever player of the week award for Keeler in her career.

Keeler had a career week as she scored seven goals, two assists in two NEAC games. She had a career best five goals off nine shots in a 7-1 victory on the road against the College of Saint Elizabeth last Sunday. In the 8-1 victory over Wilson College the senior captain scored two goals and had two assists. She leads the team with 10 goals, two assists and 22 points. She scored 16 points last week alone.

Keeler shares the award with Cazenovia College goalie Brittaney Westcott who made 26 saves in a 2-0 week for the Wildcats.

This is the first-ever NEAC Player of the Week award for the Gallaudet women's soccer program (5-7, 3-4 NEAC). Overall, this is the fourth conference player of the week award in the NEAC for Gallaudet this fall.

Gallaudet is off until this weekend when the Bison host two NEAC foes. The two-day homestand begins on Saturday, October 16, when the Bison welcome Morrisville State College to Hotchkiss Field for a 3 p.m. game. Cazenovia College visits on Sunday, October 17, for a 12 p.m. game.
