Gallaudet Defeats Washington & Jefferson, Elizabethtown; Go 3-1 at Elizabethtown Halloween Classic

Gallaudet defeated Washington & Jefferson, then Elizabethtown, to go 3-1 in the Elizabethtown Halloween Classic and finish the season 18-17. This marks the first time the volleyball team has been over .500 since September 12.

In the match against Washington & Jefferson, Gallaudet won 17-25, 25-10, 25-20, 20-25, 15-11. The team had 58 digs, led by Brittany Ellenbecker with 18, and Justine Jeter with 17 to go along with 13 kills.  Katelyn Reese added 10 kills and Paige Johnson had 34 assists, as everyone contributed to the win.


Gallaudet headed into their final match with Elizabethtown 17-17, and hungry to finish the regular season with a winning record. The first three games were extremely close, back and forth, 25-23, 25-22, 21-25. Gallaudet won the fourth game decisively 25-15 to clinch the fourth straight winning record of Lynn Ray Boren's 4 year tenure.

Reese led the Bison with 13 kills and was named to the All-Tournament team.  Ludmila Mounty-Weinstock added 12 kills and Amanda Kreiger contributed 7 kills.  Johnson had 38 assists.

Gallaudet begins their post-season with a first round Capital Athletic Conference game at the University of Mary Washington, Tuesday, November 4, at 7 pm.
