Bison earn split on the road at Lebanon Valley
ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Gallaudet University volleyball team earned a split on Saturday on the road at Lebanon Valley College as the Bison went up against two non-conference opponents. GU started the day with a tough 3-2 victory over University of Scranton (13-15) but had to quickly turnaround and faced the host Dutchmen (21-8) and lost 3-0.
Gallaudet (21-12) won the first set against Scranton 25-19 and then lost the second and fourth sets by the same 24-26 score. The Royals forced the fifth set but Gallaudet prevailed to take the match 25-19, 24-26, 25-22, 24-26, 15-10. In the second match, the Bison went quietly 12-25, 12-25, 13-25.
The leader for the Bison on offense was sophomore Ann
Whited (Fishers, Ind.) who had 30 kills to do with 25 digs
in eight sets played. Junior setter Paige
Johnson (North Richland Hills, Texas) passed out 70
assists in the two matches and added 23 digs. Fellow junior
Micaela Paulone (Fishers, Ind.) had 54 digs at the
libero position.
Gallaudet hits the road to face nationally ranked Christopher
Newport University on Wednesday, October 27, at 7:30 p.m.
