Gallaudet volleyball summer camp draws well in California
FREMONT, Calif. – Gallaudet University volleyball coach Lynn Ray Boren and a staff of former Bison players hosted two summer camps at the California School for the Deaf in Fremont, Calif., during a week in July which drew nearly 70 campers. The first camp was for volleyball hitters and setters while the second camp taught volleyball fundamentals. The campers represented 15 different schools from 10 different states including Alabama, California, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Maryland, Minnesota, South Carolina, Texas, Wisconsin and Washington, D.C.
“We were so fortunate to have such a terrific supporting staff at the California School for the Deaf who did an excellent job all week long. They went above and beyond our expectations,” said Boren. “Our annual volleyball camp is full of tradition as you look around and see former Bison greats teaching and demonstrating skills to help these young women develop as volleyball players.”
The 2011 Gallaudet University volleyball camp will be held next summer with dates and location to be announced later this fall.
